Generally, a good candidate for nose surgery will be at least 15 years old and have completed their facial growth. Nose surgery can help correct cosmetic concerns regarding the bridge, hump, and nostrils of the nose. During your consultation, your surgeon will review your health history and goals to help determine if nose surgery is right for you.
YOUR NOSE SURGERY
Before Surgery
Our plastic surgeons will see you in an initial consultation. The consultation offers you an opportunity to meet with the surgeon of your choice and ask questions. Computerized imaging is available for our cosmetic surgical procedures. Your surgeon will also review your health history and nose surgery goals to determine if nose surgery is right for you.
Day of Surgery
Your nose surgery will be performed in our fully accredited in-office surgical suite or in a same day surgical facility as an outpatient procedure. A combination of IV sedation and local anesthesia is normally used for your surgery. Depending on the complexity of your nose surgery, the procedure may take between 1 to 2 hours.
RECOVERY
You can expect to be in recovery for 1 hour after your surgery. You may experience bruising and swelling after your nose surgery. A nasal splint is usually worn for one week. The nose will be swollen for several weeks, but a change in nasal contour is readily apparent. Many patients experience a relatively quick recovery from nose surgery and often return to work 1 week after their surgery.Â
