Mark A. Brzezienski, MD, FACS joined the Plastic Surgery Group and Hayes Hand Center in August 1995. Dr. Brzezienski is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He also holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand through the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is the Chairman, Program Director and a Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery and an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. Dr. Brzezienski trains resident physicians pursuing the specialties of both plastic and reconstructive surgery and orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Brzezienski’s plastic surgery practice encompasses a special interest in breast reconstruction following mastectomy as well as aesthetic procedures of the breast. He also has an extensive practice in aesthetic procedures of the face and all aspects of body contouring.

Additionally, he treats a wide variety of hand problems through Hayes Hand Center. His Orthopaedic Hand Surgery fellowship and experience allow him to provide comprehensive care in this specialized area.

Dr. Brzezienski is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed General Surgery training at the University of Connecticut and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. He completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Hand Surgery at the Philadelphia Hand Center of Thomas Jefferson University.

He is an active member of The Chattanooga and Hamilton County Medical Society having served as President, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, President of the Medical Foundation and Vice Chairman of IMPACT, a political action committee for medicine. He is the youngest physician to receive the Distinguished Service Award for his development and sustenance of the Medical Youth Leadership Forum. In addition, Dr. Brzezienski is a member of numerous national medical professional societies, serves on a number of committees, is a published author in scientific journals and lectures frequently on a wide variety of subjects within his field of specialty.

Dr. Brzezienski and his wife, Jayne, reside in Chattanooga and have two daughters, Isabella and Alexandra.
