BRITTNEY MURPHY, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner

“We are all uniquely and wonderfully made! Intricately designed with lots of love. These bodies are not meant to last forever, but while we are in them, let’s treat them well. My goal for each patient I get the privilege of caring for, is to provide them with knowledgeable, passionate care that improves their overall wellness and quality of life. This includes taking the time to educate so that my patients can take ownership of their health. From an acute illness, to lifelong maintenance, I want to come alongside my patients and partner with them on their journey to their healthiest self.”

Brittney Murphy is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Her nursing career began at Erlanger Hospital, where Brittney worked as a bedside nurse on the medical-surgical floors as well as the intensive care units. She then went back to school to receive her master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

As a nurse practitioner, Brittney has worked in urgent, acute, long term, and primary care settings, allowing her the opportunity to learn from and treat a wide range of age groups and health concerns. It didn’t take long into her practitioner career for Brittney to discover her true passion in medicine: disease prevention and correction through a healthy lifestyle.

Brittney joined The Plastic Surgery Group and The Hayes Hand Center team in November of 2020 as the practice’s first ever mid-level practitioner. In this role, she will be seeing patients with hand concerns, removing lesions that are either unwanted or medically concerning, and launching a new program in the practice that focuses on nutrition education and weight loss/maintenance, with an overall emphasis on health promoting activities of daily living.

Brittney is a Jesus-loving Chattanooga native, who lives on the Northshore with her husband, Cole. They have a son and a daughter, 20 months apart. Brittney loves all things active and outdoors, her kayak being one of her favorite toys and camping being one of her favorite weekend plans. Brittney and Cole love to fly fish and ski together, and they go as often as their busy schedules will allow. If she isn’t playing with her babies, at a workout class, or planning another dinner party, you can find her buried in a book.
